Nagavali Jatavallabhula had an intention to create safety awareness among all the employees in his organisation. She took part in the Landmark Education self expression and leadership programme, and in so doing she created a project, a safety workshop which took place August 21st at the CVR Cafeteria. Jatavallabhula describes what took place:
“The CVR cafeteria was filled with people who were curious to know about safety, an important aspect of all walks of life. There has been a lot of publicity on the Mot-TVs and announcements prior to the talk. The talk has started with a few people and Kadam addressing them and I was running through the PPTs. Slowly, people started gathering and there were close to 150 people. After first couple of minutes, I understood that Kadam did not need any power point presentations to make his points. He had live examples and case studies to present to the participants. The 50-minute talk went on very well and then it was time for the participants for questions. There were so many questions on the topic and that is when it felt like a lot of them saw huge benefits in the talk. The topics covered by Kadam has made a great impact - family safety, children safety, women safety, secure homes, explosive devices awareness, awareness on matters to deal with traffic mishaps and crisis.”
The audience reaction was extremely positive.
“Very good tips were given and truly created an awareness that a lot of issues can be dealt with by controlling our behaviour and reactions,” said one participant.
The participants felt it would be useful to have more such sessions going forward and that they would recommend it to others as well. Jatavallabhula had an experience of satisfaction for having served others and created a difference in the lives of a few people. She is looking forward to reaching many more employees on this topic in the future.
